One of the countless highlights of my trip to Botswana with Sunway Safaris was undoubtedly this: gliding gracefully through the waters of the Okavango Delta in a mokoro or dug-out canoe. Once fashioned from the mighty sausage tree, these are now environmentally-friendly fibreglass versions but still demand the skill of a local poler/guide. I tried, and let’s just say I would make a lousy poler…
Sunset in Africa is rarely less than spectacular, and this one on our first full day in the Delta was no exception.
